Fall Recycling Event

This event is co-sponsored by the Lemont Environmental Advisory Commission. It includes Motor Oil Recycling, Document Disposal, Electronics Recycling, Latex Paint Recycling, Prescription Medication Collection, Toner Cartridges, Printer Inks, Cell Phones, CFL Light Bulb Collection, Alkaline Battery Collection, and Food Collection for the Food Pantries.

  • Motor Oil Recycling:  Collecting used motor oil, fuel oil, lubricant oil, brake/transmission fluid and antifreeze.  Co-sponsored by Citgo Refinery.
  • Document Disposal:  Dispose of personal and business paper safely and securely. All documents will be shredded on site.  Co-sponsored by Beaver Document Shredding.
  • Electronics Recyling:  Dispose of outdated electronic equipment including PCs and computer peripherals, servers, networking equipment, stereo and home entertainment equipment, phone equipment & cell phones.  There is a $10.00 disposal fee for monitors; $15.00 for TVs.  Co-sponsored by E-Scrap Technologies.
  • Latex Paint Recycling:  Accepting Latex paint, any color. Paint may be brought in cans or mixed into a 5-gallon container. $2.50 per gallon fee; $8.00 per 5 gallon container.  Co-sponsored by Earth Paints Collection Systems.
  • Prescription Medication Collection:   Dispose of unused and outdated prescription medications safely while saving our water supply.  Co-sponsored by Lemont Police Department.
  • Toner Cartridge - Printer Inks - Cell Phones:   Bring these items for recycling and re-use. Collection to benefit Lemont Combined School District 113A.
  • CFL Light Bulb Collection:   Accepting used CFL or small fluorescent light bulbs. CFL bulbs may not be disposed of in the trash.  Co-sponsored by Waste Management.
  • Alkaline Battery Collection:   Accepting all sizes of alkaline batteries for proper disposal.  Co-sponsored by Waste Management.
  • Food Collection for the Food Pantries:   Bring non-perishable food for the Food Pantries to the Metra lot.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE:  Toxic products, including oil base paints, insectisides, weed killers, and other household chemicals can be safely disposed of at the Household Hazardous Waste drop site at Fire Station #4, corner of Route 59 & Brookdale Road in Naperville.  Hours are Saturday & Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  For more information, call (630) 420-6142.
