Fiscal Year 2017-18 Budget Development

The Fiscal Year 2017-18 Budget development is underway. After multiple staff reviews, a draft of the full budget (including capital projects/equipment previously discussed at the January Committee meeting) was discussed at the February 27 Committee of the Whole Meeting. The Village Board will be hosting two formal budget public hearings at the March 13 and March 27 Village Board meetings, which gives residents the ability to offer comment on the proposed budget. The first draft budget will be posted to our website by the end of this week, at the following link:  http://il-lemont.civicplus.com/147/Village-Budget. The Village Board will review a final draft of the Fiscal Year 2017-18 budget at the March 27 Committee of the Whole Meeting.

The Village has been notified that it will be receiving the Distinguished Budget Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the third consecutive year. The GFOA established the Distinguished Budget Award to encourage and assist state and local governments to prepare budget documents of the very highest quality that reflect the guidelines established by the National Advisory Council on State and Local Budgeting and the GFOA’s best practices on budgeting.
