The Mayor is the Chief Executive Officer of the Village and presides at all regular and special meetings of the Village Board.  The Mayor also serves as Liquor Commissioner.

On January 30, 2012 the Village of Lemont embarked on a strateigc planning effort with teh assistance of the Center for Governmental Studies at Northern Illinois University.  Over the sunsequent six months the Mayor, Village Board, Village Clerk, Village Administrator and senior staff worked together to develop a strategic plan for the three-year period 2013-2015.   The plan is intended to set the Board's vision for the next several years utilizing goals, objectives and performance indicators.

The Village Board of Trustees meet the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 at Village Hall. Agendas are posted at least 48 hours before the meeting and minutes are posted when they are approved.

Each year, the Lemont Chamber of Commerce hosts an event for the business community in which the Mayor is invited to give a speech on the State of the Village.
