Planning a Special Event in the Village of Lemont?

Be sure to submit the required Special Event Permit Application before scheduling and hosting your event.

Per Municipal Code 5.12.010, An "amusement" or "special event" includes, but is not limited to public shows, festivals, concerts, arts and craft shows, firework displays, sporting events, parades, theatricals and circuses. It is unlawful to conduct or operate any special event without first having secured a permit therefor. A special event is not limited to those listed, and could also include car shows, any activity that affects pedestrian or vehicular traffic, pop-up shops, alcohol-serving events, food-related events, promotional or commercial activities, etc.

The application process helps ensure your preferred event date is reserved, preventing scheduling conflicts with other events. It ensures any safety measures are in place, adequate resources are allocated, and any necessary permissions are secured for a smooth and successful event. Event organizers must submit the application to the Village for review and approval no later than 30 days in advance of the event or it will be subject to an expedited review fee as provided for by ordinance.
