Door-to-Door Solicitation in Lemont
The Village has recently experienced a noticeable rise in door-to-door solicitors. Before any individual or business engages in solicitation within Lemont, an application and approval are required through the Lemont Police Department. The process includes a mandatory background check for every applicant.
Approved solicitors are issued a solicitation permit from the Police Department which they are required to always carry and present to residents upon request. In addition, solicitors must clearly display the name or logo o the company that they are soliciting for.
Residents who prefer not to receive solicitors may pick up a free "No Solicitor" sticker at the Police Department during regular business hours. These stickers, when placed on or near the main entrance of the residence, must be observed by all solicitors.
Residents who observe unpermitted solicitors are encouraged to call the Lemont Police Department at #1-630-257-2226 and provide a description of the individual(s), their location, and their direction of travel.

Street or Residential Solicitor's Permits
- All businesses wishing to obtain a Solicitor Permit must complete the permit application and pay the $250.00 fee.
- Each person soliciting under that permit must be fingerprinted at a cost of $100.00 per person.
- No soliciting can take place until all permits are approved.
- Permit will be valid for a period of six months from date of issue.
- All posted "No Solicitors" type signs must be observed.
- The Village reserves the right to revoke permits at any time.
